Ryan Ward, MSc, PhD

Dr. Ryan Ward is a Canadian pharma industry professional with over ten years experience, having served as a Research Associate, a Medical Science Liaison and an acting Therapeutic Area Director. His therapeutic expertise spans multiple disease sites in oncology, inflammatory bowel diseases, small molecules and biologics.
Through the years Ryan has mentored numerous individuals who are now top performing Medical Affairs professionals across Canada and the United States. He completed intensive leadership training through the Centre for Creative Leadership in the US and has a passion for transforming top candidates into exceptional industry professionals.
Ryan completed his PhD at the University of Toronto and at Sick Kids Hospital. There, he studied the cellular and mechanistic properties of cancer stem cells identified within brain tumours. Previous to that he completed his MSc at McGill University in the Division of Experimental Medicine and his BSc (Honours) at McMaster University in the BioPharm Co-Op program.
James Scrivens, PhD

Dr. James Scrivens is an experienced Medical Affairs professional who has worked in both large and small Pharma contexts. His experience in the pharmaceutical industry includes procedure development, regulatory affairs, clinical development, insight gathering, and customer engagement.
James has a B.A. in English from the University of Regina, a B.Sc. in Genetics (Honours) from the University of Alberta, and a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University. James conducted post-doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany, and at Concordia University in Montreal.
His academic and pharmaceutical industry expertise includes genetics, rare disease, inflammation, oncology, small molecules, and biologics. He maintains an extensive international network of contacts within academia and industry and has assisted numerous professionals in their career transitions.
